Introduced Patch 1.6
Vaulted Patch 11.0

Suppressed Submachine Gun is an SMG in Battle Royale. It is available in Common, Uncommon, and Rare variants. It uses Light Bullets, has a head shot multiplier of x2.0, and has quietened shots. It fires low damage bullets at an accelerated rate with good accuracy but major damage reduction at range. The Suppressed Submachine Gun can be found from floor loot, Chests, and Vending Machines.

The Suppressed Submachine Gun's Common variant was first vaulted in Patch 5.40, then the Uncommon and Rare variants were vaulted in Patch 6.00. All three were unvaulted in Patch 7.30, replacing the Submachine Gun.

The Suppressed Submachine Gun was vaulted again on 9.10 Content Update due to the recent addition of the Burst SMG. However, The Suppressed Submachine Gun can still be found in Playground and Creative.

The Suppressed Submachine Gun was unvaulted again on 9.30 Content Update #1 due to the Vault of the Rare variant of the Tactical Assault Rifle.

The Suppressed SMG was vaulted a third time in Patch 11.0, making it available only in Creative. It was replaced by the Submachine Gun.

The Suppressed SMG has been unvaulted on December 29, 2019 for 24 hours. Following the Hand Cannon, this is the 12th weapon to be unvaulted for the Winterfest event.

Strategy

  • The Suppressed Submachine Gun is at its most accurate during its first few shots where it beats out almost all other guns in the game. However, unlike most other suppressed guns, even once its accuracy has fully decreased, it is still quite accurate, meaning one can reliably unload all 30 of its bullets without ever having to worry about accuracy.
  • Because it is a close range weapon, the Suppressed Submachine Gun's silenced aspect is not very useful. However, if two players fight with silenced guns, their fight will not be heard, generally allowing more time to heal or loot undetected post-fight.
  • The Suppressed Submachine Gun's damage drops off very quickly at range, making it a bad choice at further medium ranges.
  • The Suppressed Submachine Gun’s high fire rate, good magazine size, and great accuracy makes this weapon useful in most short-closer medium range engagements. However, its damage falloff will prevent it from being useful beyond there.
  • The Suppressed Submachine Gun has first shot accuracy. If it is your first weapon, its suppressor, fire rate, and accuracy can be a functional substitute for an assault rifle. It is suggested that if someone with a Suppressed Submachine Gun cannot find an assault rifle, they should either wait for the SMG to regain first shot accuracy between each shot or to fire the weapon in bursts of three for maximum accuracy.
  • The Suppressed Submachine Gun can quickly and silently destroy structures from a distance without being noticed.
  • The Suppressed Submachine Gun has minimal penalties for continuous fire and strafing, making it a very viable choice to fire while moving, whether from the hip or while aiming down sights.

Trivia

  • The Suppressed Submachine Gun bears strong similarities to the Heckler & Koch MP5SD, a real-life suppressed submachine gun.
  • The Suppressed Submachine Gun is one of the three weapons in the game to have had one specific rarity vaulted then unvaulted, in this case its Common variant, until the Common variant of the Infantry Rifle was vaulted in March 2019. The other weapon is the Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle, with the Legendary variant Vaulted on Patch 5.40 and then unvaulted on Patch 9.40 and the Infantry Rifle with the Common variant vaulted on Patch 8.10 and then unvaulted on 10.00 Content Update.
  • These SMGs are very deadly in both fire rate and accuracy. In fact, the Common variant has the same DPS of the Legendary Assault Rifle.
  • Despite being available Common, Uncommon, and Rare variants, it deals more damage than both rarities of the Compact SMG.
  • This is one of the three OG SMGs that are no longer in the game as of now. The Tactical SMG and the Machine Pistol are also OG.
  • This is one of four weapons to be introduced then vaulted, then unvaulted and re-vaulted. The other three weapons are the Guided Missile (v3.5 Content Update - v5.10 Content Update, v6.21 - present), Clingers (v7.00 - v7.40, v9.00 - present), and the Dual Pistols (v6.21 - v7.10 CU#3, v9.30 - present).
  • This is currently the only item to be unvaulted twice.
  • This is the third ever item to be unvaulted, following the Dual Pistols.
  • This is the first weapon to be vaulted three times. 1st being Patch 6.00, the next being 9.10 Content Update and the final being Patch 11.00
  • this gun have been in & out of the vault somes many time that fans have no idea if the gun is staying in the game or in the vault
  • The Suppressed SMG is the only weapon ever to get vaulted 3 times.
    • In fact all of the remaining Suppressed weapons were in Patch 11.0 meaning that Epic wants people to hear the gun sounds and compaint about not hearing it
  • The Suppressed SMG used to have the same pullout sound as the Tactical Submachine Gun and the Semi-Auto Sniper Rifle but was changed to have it's own pullout sound in Patch 7.10
