Vehicles (Battle Royale)

Vehicles first appeared in Fortnite in Patch 4.3 with the new addition of the Shopping Cart. As time has progressed, new vehicles have been added such as the All Terrain Kart (ATK) in Patch 5.0, Quadcrashers in Patch 6.1, X-4 Stormwing planes in Patch 7.0, Driftboards in the 7.40 Content Update, Pirate Cannons in Patch 8.00, The Baller in Patch 8.10, The B.R.U.T.E in Patch 10.00 and Motorboats in Patch 11.00. We will see the additions of Cars soon.

Spawns

All vehicles can be found in their respective places around the Fortnite map (i.e. Quadcrashers at race tracks, Pirate Cannons at the Pirate Camps), but due to spawn rates, there is no guarantee how many, if any, vehicles spawn in a particular area.

Riding a Vehicle

Players can ride the vehicles by pressing their interact button (when next to one). The location of the player relative to the vehicle will determine their seating, which can be changed by pressing their crouch button. Anyone can ride a vehicle, no matter the team. The driver's selected Wrap will be applied to the vehicle until they dismount or change seats. All passengers can shoot their weapons, use items, and use emotes while riding a vehicle. Additionally, all vehicles can be destroyed by depleting their health is also a main key .

The Motorboat is a water vehicle released with the start of Chapter 2 - Season 1 of Battle Royale. They have 800 health and can shoot single-shot missiles that deal 35 damage. Up to 4 people can ride at once. The Motorboat can boost and will be slowly damaged for one HP every second if it's driven on land. The boosts can be used to gain a lot of speed on water, especially if the water current is going in the direction of the way you're driving. Driving and boosting directly into players will send them upwards and can cause major fall damage.

Upon being shot and destroyed, the Motorboat will immediately explode. However, this will not damage the players inside or near the boat.

Motorboats spawn all over the Battle Royale Map, however the areas with the most Motorboat spawns are around The Authority, Dirty Docks, Lazy Lake Island, and bottom left corner of the Battle Royale Map.

It is currently not available in Creative yet, like the Choppa.

In Patch 13.00, the Motorboat missile has received a small change. The missile now travels quicker than before, but it is now harder to hit enemies from short-ranges.

The change was reverted later on.

With Patch 15.10, Motorboats run on fuel now along with Cars and X-4 Stormwing. Motorboats can be refueled like Cars and X-4 Stormwings with Gas Cans.

Interestingly, the missile launcher on the Motorboats have a A.L.T.E.R. logo on them.
Prior to Patch v12.20 which introduced Choppas, they were the only vehicles in all of Chapter 2.
The Motorboat is the first water vehicle introduced in Battle Royale.
The Motorboat is the 4th vehicle to have a built-in weapon. Following the B.R.U.T.E.
