Joy Ride Update

Driving arrives in Fortnite! Fuel up at the new gas stations and master each car’s unique speed and handling.

Groove to the Music

Your road trip on the Island needs a soundtrack, so we added radio stations. If you’re streaming, adjust your Creator Options in the Audio Settings for copyright-safe music.

Summer Splash LTMs

New summer LTMs continue this week with Gungame and One Shot.

Coral Castle

In case you were underwater and missed it, the Coral Castle POI surfaced in the northwest quadrant of the map. Explore a lost city that time forgot.

Party Royale

New entertainment across music, sports, and the deep sea. Starting Friday, we’ll have a video premiere event from Japanese artist Kenshi Yonezu at the Main Stage. Refer to your channel’s platform policies for tips on how to avoid copyright strikes.

What’s bugging you?

We were able to squash some key bugs called out by many of you. This includes the Slow Glider bug, dropping a weapon to instantly reload it, and controller bugs on PC. Keep giving us feedback!

Weapons + Items

• Vehicles
  • New drivable cars. They come in 4 types:
    • Islander Prevalent
      • 800 Health
      • 4 Passengers
      • Goes Slow Offroad
      • Has a Handbrake which can be used to Drift
      • Has a Taxi Variant
    • Victory Motors Whiplash
      • 800 Health
      • 2 Passengers
      • Goes Slow Offroad
      • Has a Higher Speed than Other Cars
      • Has a Boost that makes the car go faster, but consumes more fuel
    • OG Bear
      • 1,000 Health
      • 4 Passengers
        • The 2 Passengers in the Back can use Emotes
      • Can go Offroad without Slowing Down
      • Has a Handbrake which can be used to Drift
    • Titano Mudflap
      • 1,200 Health
      • 2 Passengers
      • Goes Slow Offroad
      • Breaks Structures Easily
      • Has a Handbrake which can be used to Drift
  • Cars can be refueled at Gas Stations with a Gas Pump or by using the itemized Gas Can.
  • You'll be able to play some music while you drive around in your vehicle! Here's a list of the stations you can play:
    • Party Royale
    • Radio Yonder
    • Beat Box
    • Power Play

• Fish
  • New texture for them in the inventory.
  • Nerfed the time to consume it to 2 secs (instead of 1)

Gameplay

• The Chauffeur Punchard has been added:
  • Chauffeur - Meters driven with passengers (1,000, 25,000, 50,000, 100,000, 250,000)

LTMs

• Tilted Taxis
  • Earn Stars to Win!
  • Find and deliver passengers to their destinations to earn Stars!
  • Rides want a speedy delivery and have special requests for bonus stars!
  • Hunt down the leaders or find coins to earn stars!

• Rags to Riches
  • Eliminate players to upgrade your weapons!
  • Compete in this arms race variant of Battle Royale where all weapons spawned in the map and chests are common tier and the only way to get better weapons is by getting eliminations!

• Fishing Frenzy
  • Fish for better gear!
  • Compete in this Battle Royale mode with a catch; all loot must be fished.
  • Find high tier loot in fishing spots!
  • The Last fisherman standing claims victory!

• Knockout: Shuffle
  • Compete in a four-round bracket squad battle!
  • The team with the most eliminations at the end of the round moves on.
  • The team that wins the 4th round wins the match! Loadouts are randomized for both teams each round!
  • Respawn and Ammo Regeneration is ON

• Knockout: Air Raid
  • Compete in a four-round bracket squad battle!
  • The team with the most eliminations at the end of the round moves on.
  • You'll have a jetpack with a low-grav environment, so take to the air and claim VICTORY!
  • Respawn and Looting is ON.

Bug Fixes

• Due to to the Whirlpool disappearing near Hydro 16, they are changing the challenge from Week 1 to be "Deal damage within 10s of landing from the Whirlpool at The Yacht"
• There was issue with glider speed that after redeploying will sometimes move you slower.
• The issue that Landing  at Frenzy Farm and The Yacht and finishing top 25 challenges may not be working if you're playing Duos or Squads will be fixed.
• The XP bar will sometimes be visually incorrect when in a match.
• Ocean's Bottomless Chug Jug had an issue where it couldn't be picked up by another player if it was recharging.

PC Bug Fixes

• When playing on PC with a controller you will sometimes see a mouse cursor after certain actions. This will hopefully be fixed in this update.

Mobile Bug Fixes

• Elimination feed will sometimes not appear on the HUD.
• A yellow square appears when you level up.
• There's an issue of being unable to throw a grenade while riding a Loot Shark.
• The Sail Shark Glider may have a yellow coloration when viewed on certain mobile devices.

Creative

• All Arena Island progress has been reset.

Islands

• New Islands
  • Arena Island renamed to Fortilla Island.
  • New Debris Island.
  • Added Fortilla themed Prefabs and Galleries

General

Mobile

• Final version to support iOS devices. Android devices are not affected as they can download updates via the Epic Games app downloaded from the official Epic Games website.
