Vault (or vaulted) is the term used to refer weapons/items that were released and was later made unavailable to adjust the game's balance, being a limited-time item, weapon rotations, out of the meta or not being used by the players as much. Most of the vaulted items can still be found on Playground Mode. Vaulted weapons and items can return in an update or in future LTMs.

Ranged Weapons

These are the guns and bows found in Fortnite and aren't the game as of now. Some listed below will have some footnotes along the way.

These use Energy Shells as their main ammo type and deal tons of damage

Trivia

  • At the start of Season 6, all vaulted weapons are now available on Playgrounds if a weapon is vaulted.
    • This might match the description of the Vault because if it means they’re not gone forever, that means they can still appear in playgrounds.
      • however, despite being said in Season 5, those vaulted weapons in that season never appeared in playgrounds.
  • The Guided Missile is the only weapon to ever be put into the vault, and to return from the vault, to only be put back in the vault later on (Initially released patch 3.4, Vaulted in 3.5, and re-released in Patch 5.10 Content Update, and Re-Vaulted in Patch 6.21)
  • The original Submachine Gun (The TEC9) has either been completely reworked, or has been completely removed from the game files, making it the only weapon in the entire game to be either remade entirely, or to be removed. If the original SMG was reworked, it is now known as the Machine Pistol[3], with a Common, Uncommon, and Rare variation (although all different versions of this weapon have the exact same stats, most likely as a placeholder(This was written during 7.10, these stats can change at any time))
