This template exists for the sole purpose of storing Hero data to the Infobox Heroes cargo table cargo table. If your goal is not to store Hero data to this cargo table but instead to simply format and display Hero data, you should use {{Minibox Heroes}}.
{{Minibox Heroes}} stores Hero data by aggregating shared fields from {{Infobox Heroes}} and its own parameters before storing them as one entry. An example of its use can be found on Brawler Luna:
- The Hero description, class ("Ninja"), subclass ("Brawler"), character ("Luna"), and source ("Llamas") are added to each instance of
{{Minibox Heroes}}(Uncommon, Rare, Epic and Legendary versions of Brawler Luna). - The Hero description, class ("Constructor"), subclass ("MEGABASE"), character ("Kyle"), and source ("Llamas") are added to each instance of
{{Minibox Heroes}}(Mythic versions of MEGABASE Kyle). - This makes four separate entries in the cargo table, one for each instance.

Because of this interaction, the use of {{Infobox Heroes}} is required for this template to work as intended.
