Midas is a Legendary T-Icon-Adaptive-64.png T-Icon-Enlightened-64.png Outfit with T-Icon-Variant-64.png in Battle Royale that can be obtained as a reward from Level 100 of Battle Pass Chapter 2 Season 2.

Cosmetic Overview[edit | edit source]

Featuring him as a classy mastermind with a suit similar to Rook, a blind right eye similar to Oro and numerous tattoos with golden plating to reveal his reactive Golden Touch. All these features are in contrast to ancient Greek myth about King Midas, a greedy king who could turn anything he touched to gold; however the golden touch's greed got the better of him.

Reactive Feature[edit | edit source]

Midas’s gold touch mechanism can turn any weapon or vehicle into gold and even if you die, it will still be gold when dropped and other players can pick it up and it will still have a weapon with a built-in gold wrap.

  • His SHADOW edit style features him in a black assassin suit with golden skin as well.

Golden Agent[edit | edit source]

The Golden Agent is unlocked instantly when you unlock Midas. The transformation goes like this:

  • His right hand's gold begins running down his arm.
  • Once it reaches his shoulder it starts spreading down the right side of his torso, down to his hip.
  • Around level 111 the gold continues to spread down his right leg, while spreading to the left.
  • At Level 113, Midas’ body begins to be covered up in gold until level 125, where his legs are remaining.
  • At level 116 his jaw is gold.
  • By level 117 his entire head except for the area around his good (left) eye should be gold, and his left shoulder has started turning gold.
  • At level 120 his head should be 100% gold, and his right knee has been caught up in the viral spread of gold.
  • By 121 his right knee should be completely gold.
  • At level 126, the transformation of his left arm is complete.
  • Around level 128 his left knee is also completely gold, and all that's left is his shins and shoes.

Lore[edit | edit source]

Chapter 2, Season 1[edit | edit source]

  • At the tail end of the season, furniture in Eye Land slowly turned to gold. This is most likely Midas' doing, preparing to take over the little island.

Chapter 2, Season 2[edit | edit source]

  • At the start of the season, Midas took over Eye Land and formed The Agency, the headquarters of GHOST.
  • At around halfway during the season, Midas began creating a device. It's intentions were unknown. Later throughout the season, it was given the internal name Doomsday Device.
  • Midas began powering the device through tubes which would connect to the device. You could see them in the lobby, Battle Pass screen, and in his room.
  • On June 15th, Midas used the device to break the storm, removing it altogether. However, his plans failed and created a massive tsunami in the storm's place, which ultimately led to the map changes that occured in Chapter 2 Season 3.

Chapter 2, Season 3[edit | edit source]

  • At the start of the Season 3 cinematic trailer, Midas is seen stranded on a floating wood floor piece in the water.
  • Midas is then ran over by a shark, destroying his piece of wood. Ironically, Meowscles was riding the shark. His whereabouts are unknown.
  • Golden trucks at risky reels may indicate that Midas is still alive
  • Midas might be living at the Pirate Radio because it has a GHOST recruitment poster and the GHOST logo all over the boat, though this could just be a coincidence or the people running the radio just like GHOST.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Midas' name and Golden Touch originate from the King Midas from Greek mythology.
  • Midas was the leader of the GHOST organization. After the Device live event, he has become a new member of SHADOW.
    • Midas could've been working for SHADOW while disguised as a GHOST agent, explaining his change of faction.
  • Midas can be found in The Agency as a Boss NPC. When eliminated by a player, he drops his Drum Gun.
    • When appearing as a henchman boss, he is voiced by Matthew Mercer.
  • Midas is confirmed to be a reactive outfit because of his Golden Touch, which turns any weapons, items or vehicles he touches into gold for the rest of the match, overriding and ignoring other players' Wraps.
  • In the Chapter 2 Season 3 cinematic trailer, Midas is attacked by a shark. It is unknown on whether he survived.
  • Before the device event, he was working with Jules who was on SHADOW while he was on GHOST possibly meaning he was a double agent.
  • His relation with Jules is unknown, either they are married, brother and sister or father and daughter. Due to Midas’ age, It’s most likely impossible for him to be her father.
  • For a short time, You could find golden pickup trucks at Risky Reels meaning Midas is alive. Though this is not confirmed since Jules wears gloves, this could mean she has the golden touch as well.
