Materials is the commonly used umbrella term to describe the resources and ingredients required for building and crafting. Players can break items in the world to obtain these materials: World Resources, used in building structures in both Save the World and Battle Royale, and Crafting Ingredients, used to craft Weapons, Traps, and Ammunition in Save the World.
World Resources[edit | edit source]
World Resources, often called "mats" or "materials" by players, are used in building in both Save the World and Battle Royale. Harvesting items and objects with a Pickaxe yields a different amount of World Resources, depending on that which was was harvested.
Crafting Ingredients[edit | edit source]
Like the main building materials, Crafting Ingredients can be found all over the world. Players can find crafting items by searching objects (by moving close to an object and pressing the search button, or E). Using schematics, the player can use these materials to craft weapons and traps, and further, ammunition. Crafting does not require the player to be out of combat, but they should be cautious that opening the inventory interface interferes with their ability to defend themselves.
Drop chances of tiered ingredients blur when closer to new zone transitions— Items found primarily in Plankerton can also be found in late Stonewood, for example.
