Heroes are the main playable characters in Save the World. There are currently four main classes of Heroes, which each have a number of sub classes. While every Hero in Fortnite can build, tyexplore, and hold their own on the battlefield, each sub class has access to a unique set of Abilities and Traits that gives them a unique style of play.

Heroes are available in rarities from Uncommon to Mythic, and can be unlocked from Quests, Llamas, and the Event Store.

Sub Classes[edit | edit source]

The current system in STW does not rely on Sub-Classes. Hero designs are based on the story quests and game narrative. They are most commonly implemented with a new and unique Perk, lately they've been included in a launch season in groups of 3-5 like the Dyno heroes recently that also introduce a new Team Perk. New hero loadouts have a selection of existing abilities that reflect the new character, additionally but very rarely they will have a new hero ability but that's once every couple of years.
