Introduced Patch 5.21
Last Adjustment Patch 12.50
Vaulted Patch 11.00, Patch 13.00

The Heavy Sniper Rifle is a Sniper Rifle in Battle Royale. It is available in Epic and Legendary variants and has a head shot multiplier of 2.5x. It delivers devastating damage at the cost of having a long reload time and being very loud. It deals massive damage to buildings, able to destroy anything except metal containers in one hit. It uses Heavy Bullets. It can only be found from eliminating SHADOW Henchmen or opening SHADOW Henchmen Chests.

The Heavy Sniper Rifle was vaulted in Patch 11.0 to free up space, also probably because it was overpowered.

The Heavy Sniper Rifle was supposed to be the first weapon unvaulted on December 17, 2019 for Winterfest but was postponed due to the event being delayed a day onto December 18. However, the Heavy Sniper was eventually unvaulted on December 30, 2019 for 24 hours and was the 13th weapon to be unvaulted for the event.

The Heavy Sniper Rifle has been unvaulted on Patch 12.0, replacing the Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle. On Patch 12.1, the Heavy Sniper Rifle now can be found from SHADOW henchman's itself and the SHADOW safe chests.

In Patch 12.50, the Heavy Sniper Rifle's damage was reduced from 150/157 to 126/132. The reason why it was nerfed because if the player had 100 HP and 50 shield, they'll get one shotted instantly by both the Epic and Legendary variants. It was also very overpowered. However it still one shots builds except metal containers.

The Heavy Sniper Rifle has been vaulted on Patch 13.00 because it was still too overpowered after it's damage nerf. It was replaced by the Hunting Rifle and Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle.

Trivia[]

  • The Heavy Sniper Rifle is one of the only weapons in Fortnite that has a built-in muzzle brake. This Weapon and the Hand cannon are the only ones that have this feature.
  • The Heavy Sniper Rifle bears resemblance to the Barrett M82 and Hecate II Anti-Material Rifles that fire the .50 BMG cartridge.
  • The Heavy Sniper Rifle is the most powerful Sniper Rifle in the game, with its Legendary variant dealing 132 damage.
    • It is also the most powerful weapon currently in the game, with the Legendary variant dealing 330 damage on a headshot.
  • The Legendary Heavy at one point did 392 headshot damage. If someone had the Infinity Blade they would survive on 8HP, but any weapon can elim a player that low.
  • The Rare variant of the Heavy Sniper was originally supposed to be a Spy Games exclusive weapon. However, it was scrapped because Chapter 2 - Season 2 was about to end so it was quickly scrapped.
