History
Introduced Patch 6.22
Last Adjustment Patch 11.4

Heavy Assault Rifle is an Assault Rifle in Battle Royale. It is available in Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Legendary variants. It uses Medium Bullets and has a headshot multiplier of x2.0. The Heavy Assault Rifle does tremendous damage but is wildly inaccurate while firing continuously, so it is recommended to fire in bursts of 2-3 shots or to use first shot accuracy while firing with it. The Heavy Assault Rifle can only be obtained by sidegrading an Assault Rifle at an upgrade bench. It can also be sidegraded back to an Assault Rifle.

The Heavy Assault Rifle used to be available in Rare, Epic, and Legendary variants, but it was demoted to Common, Uncommon, and Rare in Patch 8.10.

The Heavy Assault Rifle has been vaulted in Patch 11.0. However, in the Patch 11.2, the Epic and Legendary Heavy Assault Rifle, has been added to the game files hinting its unvault in the future. Currently, the weapon can also be obtained in Creative if you had the weapon in an item spawner before the rarity change.

In Patch 11.4, the Common, Uncommon and Rare variants of the Heavy Assault Rifle have been unvaulted with also the reintroduction of the Epic and Legendary variants. However it can only be found by side-grading with an Upgrade Bench. The Heavy Assault Rifle's fire rate has been increased from 3.75 to 4.25 but damages have been nerfed from 38/40/42/44/46 to 33/35/37/39/41 to balance out the weapon since its fire rate has been increased.

Strategy[edit | edit source]

  • The Heavy Assault Rifle quickly becomes one of the worst weapons in the game in terms of accuracy. It is advised to wait for its first shot accuracy to reset before firing each shot.
  • Compared to the Assault Rifle, it suffers in accuracy and fire rate.
  • Take time aiming with the Heavy Assault Rifle. Its high damage shots are worth it, and missing a shot will cost the player crucial time waiting for first-shot accuracy to reset.
  • Despite its high damage, the low accuracy and fire rate of the Heavy Assault Rifle make it generally unsuited to destroying materials.
  • As of Patch 9.30, all the variants of the Heavy Assault Rifle are able to eliminate a 100 health player in 3 shots. However to do 200 damage, the Common variant has to fire 6 shots to eliminate an opponent while the Uncommon and Rare can do it in 5. However you can kill a 200 health player in 3 headshots of any variant.
  • The Heavy Assault Rifle does above 75 damage on a headshot. Two headshots will bring an opponent to a low enough amount of health to be eliminated with almost anything.
  • The Common variant of the Heavy Assault Rifle does slightly more damage than the Legendary variant of the Assault Rifle (Battle Royale). However, it suffers in accuracy, fire rate, and magazine size compared to the said weapon, so technically you would be better off with a Common Assault Rifle (Battle Royale) as although it deals 8 less hitpoints per hit, the fact that it fires at 330RPM compared to the Heavy's 4.25 fire rate makes it more flexible in various situations, including functioning as a sort of heavy sub-machine gun if required.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The Common, Uncommon, and Rare rarities of the Heavy Assault Rifle seems to be inspired by the Zastava M70B3 based on the world-famous Russian AK-47 or AKM assault rifles, although it appears to have an AK-103-style muzzle brake. This weapon, in FPS or other shooters, is also referred to as the "Kalashnikov" rifle, as a reference to its creator, Mikhail Kalashnikov. However, it also could be a reference to the German Sturmgewehr 44 rifle, as the AK family of rifles share a lot of technology between them and the Sturmgewehrs.
  • The new Epic and Legendary rarities of the Heavy Assault Rifle seems to be inspired from the CMMG Mk47 Mutant assault rifle.
  • Leaked Epic and Legendary rarities of the weapon were found in the game's files, which means they're possibly getting unvaulted in the future patches.
  • The Heavy Assault Rifle is the first Heavy Weapon to have Common, Uncommon, and Rare variants.
  • It was once the most powerful assault rifle in the game with its Legendary variant dealing 48 damage, but in Patch 8.10, the Legendary variant was changed to Rare, and the damage was reduced down to 42. Nowadays, the Legendary Infantry Rifle is the most powerful assault rifle, dealing 44 damage.
    • However the new leaked Heavy Assault Rifle does 44/46 damage per shot dealing the highest amount of damage of any assault rifle in the game.
