History
Introduced Patch 5.40
Last Adjustment Patch 13.00
Vaulted Patch 7.21

The Grappler was a Rare (Spy Games only), Epic and Mythic (Chapter 2 Season 2 only) item in Battle Royale. It can be fired at nearby objects to pull the player towards it (fall damage still applies). The shots could be chained to travel greater distances. The Grappler has 10 charges and will be discarded when all charges have been depleted. It can be found in floor loot, Treasure Chests, Supply Drops, and Supply Llamas (Epic only).

It was first introduced along with the High Stakes Event.

The Grappler was vaulted in the 7.20 Content Update, making it only available in Playground, Creative, Team Rumble, Slide and Unvaulted. It was vaulted due to just gaining high ground on someone in a matter of seconds, due to that item being extremely overpowered. In Chapter 2 Season 1, it was removed from Playground and Team Rumble.

In Chapter 2 Season 2, the Grappler has been unvaulted, but only the Mythic rarity. The original Epic Grappler however stays in the vault. The Mythic variant has infinite uses. It can only be obtained by defeating Skye at the The Shark. Only one can be found per match and drops with Skye's Assault Rifle.

The Mythic Skye's Grappler has been nerfed to having a firerate of 0.65 in Patch 12.2, it now has a slower recharge rate due to glitches.

Skye's Grappler has been vaulted on Patch 13.00 and has been replaced with the new Jules' Glider Gun which is very similar to the Batman Grapnel Gun. When you shoot the gun, you get flung towards the spot where you aimed for and your glider will be re-deployed. For more infomation, click here.
