Flingers are slow, lumbering Mist Monsters with one large arm and one smaller arm that throw husks at the objective. They will spawn with smaller enemies which they can throw over fort walls to attack from the inside. While not dangerous on their own, they will constantly throw smaller husks onto roofs or ceilings, bypassing wall fortifications and Traps. They are highly resistant to ranged damage, but take increased damage from melee weapons.
Their "projectile" can be shot down like Lobbers' skulls.
Special Abilities[edit | edit source]
- Throw husk - Will throw a smaller husk, typically the standard one or the dwarf husks, onto a roof or ceiling, bypassing all the walls and a great amount of distance. This "projectile" can be shot down.
Tips and Strategy[edit | edit source]
- It is strongly recommended to add roofing to objective defenses, to prevent Flingers from throwing husks directly into the objective.
- Weapons with a high rate of fire such as the LMG make shooting down projectiles easier since the high rate of fire minimizes the need for accurate targeting. Shooting down the "projectile" will drop it towards the ground immediately but not kill it outright.
- They pose a similar threat to structures as Lobbers, but they are extremely resistant to ranged attacks, but very vulnerable to melee attacks. Therefore, it is useful to have a Ninja in your squad, or at least a Melee Weapon on hand, to deal with Flingers as they spawn. They are fast enough to outrun some slower heroes such as Constructors, so mobile heroes are preferred when chasing them down.
