Introduced Patch 11.00

The Fishing Rod is a Common utility item, classified as a melee weapon, that was added on the initial patch of Chapter 2 Season 1. The Fishing Rod can be used to catch fish, weapons, materials, and ammo in water. The Fishing Rod can be found in Chests, Floor Loot, barrels, Supply Drops, and Supply Llamas. The Fishing Rod can be used as many times as you want. The Fishing Rod cannot be stacked, like the Chug Jug and the Storm Flip.

Fishing[edit | edit source]

It is possible to use the Fishing Rod on water to pull up items. Simply cast your rod with primary fire (a reticle will appear to aim your bobber) on water, and wait. To catch an item, press primary fire when a fish pulls on the bobber (this will be accompanied by a visual cue and small audio cue) and you will pull up an item.

The fish is not visible when it is approaching or pulling on the bobber. The only feedback you have is the bobber being pulled. Fishing usually takes from approximately 1-10 seconds for a fish to pull on the bobber.
