Introduced Patch 15.00
Last Adjustment 15.00 Hotfix 2
Vaulted Patch 16.00

The Dragon's Breath Shotgun is a Shotgun available in Battle Royale. It is available in Epic and Legendary variants and it uses Shells 'n' Slugs. Like the Double Barrel Shotgun, This shotgun yields very high damage, at the cost of using all of its four ammunation at once, has a long reload time, and very low range. The Dragon's Breath Shotgun was introduced in Patch 15.00, to replace the Combat Shotgun or, once again, the Pump Shotgun. It has a 1.25x headshot multiplier (dealing 190/200 damage to the head), a reload time of over 4.1 seconds, and a 2 second cooldown timer when switching to other shotguns.

When you hit someone with this shotgun, it will set on fire the enemy and surrounding structures, like the Firefly Jar.

With the Hotfix 15.00.2, the Dragon's Breath Shotgun received a buff at its Damage and damage fall off, now being able to still hit for 100 from around 2 tiles. The Dragon's Breath Shotgun was added to the Creative Inventory on Patch 15.10.

The Dragon's Breath Shotgun has been added to the Vault with Patch 16.00.

Strategy[]

  • It is best to use this shotgun at close distances, where you can fire its single powerful shot to your opponent, hopefully eliminating him.
  • When using the Dragon's Breath Shotgun, try to get close to your target. Don't use this gun as a medium-long range weapon, as the weapon only has a range of 3.5 tiles.
  • Try to aim for the head. This maximizes your chances of getting the elimination, also because the Legendary variant can deal 200.
  • In a body shot you will be able to eliminate a player with 150 HP.
  • If you are unable to eliminate the enemy in 1 shot you should build some walls between you and your enemy, reload and shoot them. Or simply having as a followup an SMG or an Assault Rifle.
  • Careful with the environment. Close-range shots on grass or wooden structures may set them on fire, potentially damaging yourself. However, you can have a slight advantage over opponents defending themselves with wooden structures, forcing them to leave their covers.
  • Although having the switching cooldown between shotguns, people tend to use it with other shotguns (in this case Tactical Shotgun and Lever Action Shotgun) to maximize they're damage output, like people did with the Heavy Sniper Rifle.
    • Currently, to maximize the efficiency of this combo you can use the Dragon's Breath Shotgun with The Dub, due to not having switching cooldown like other shotguns and because they both deals tremendous damage.

Changes[]

Patch Notes[]

  • Damage increased from 133, 140 to 152, 160
  • Now it's Damage Falloff starts from 1.50 tiles, instead from 0.50 tiles, like the Double Barrel Shotgun.

Trivia[]

  • The Dragon's Breath Shotgun can be defined as the Heavier version of the Double Barrel Shotgun, except for the Structure Damage.
  • The Dragon's Breath Shotgun appears to be based off a Winchester Liberator shotgun.
  • The Dragon's Breath Shotgun has the same maximum range as the Double Barrel Shotgun, of 3.5 Tiles.
    • However, what changes between this two is the damage Fall off where the Dragon's Breath Shotgun is 1.0 tiles higher. (1.50 tiles vs 0.50 tiles).
    • In fact the Dragon's Breath Shotgun's one starts at the same range as the Tactical Shotgun and Charge Shotgun.
  • Even if the Dragon's Breath Shotgun has its custom firing sound, other players will hear the firing sound of the Double Barrel Shotgun.
  • If you don't have enough Shells 'n' Slugs to reload the shotgun, the Reload Animation will start anyway. However you will not be able to shot because you don't have 4 bullets in the mag.
  • The Dragon's Breath Shotgun currently holds the Highest damage for either Shotguns and all other Weapons, dealing 160 on a body shot.
  • In Creative the Dragon's Breath Shotgun doesn't start fire when hitting someone.
  • It also seems to have a bug with the hanging of the grip, when changing between the Dragon's Breath Shotgun and an another Shotgun, and vice versa.
