Vaulted Patch 7.30

Burst Assault Rifle, formerly called Assault Rifle (Burst), was an Assault Rifle in Battle Royale. It was available in Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic and Legendary, but after the 7.10 Content Update #3, it was only available in Epic and Legendary variants, while the Common, Uncommon and Rare versions became only available in Playground and Creative Modes. As of Patch 7.30, all variants have since been vaulted. It fires in 3-round bursts and uses Medium Bullets. The Burst Assault Rifle was also Vaulted due to the weapon being useless and players hating the weapon.

The Burst Assault Rifle can still be looted in Unvaulted, Air Royale, Playground and Creative modes.

The Burst Assault Rifle has been unvaulted for 24 hours on June 27th, 2019 for the 14 Days of Summer event, Following by the Quad Launcher, this weapon was the third weapon to be unvaulted for the event.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The Common, Uncommon, and Rare Burst Assault Rifles used the same model as the Save the World Semi-Auto Rifle and the Epic and Legendary variants used the same model as the Lynx.
  • Though officially called the "Burst Assault Rifle", it was commonly called the 'Burst', 'Triple Burst', '3 Burst AR' or 'Burst AR'. The Epic and Legendary variants are often called FAMASes due to the design being based off of the real life FAMAS F1 assault rifle.
  • Although the FAMAS was portrayed in Fortnite as the Epic and Legendary versions of the Burst Assault Rifle, this is actually inaccurate, as the FAMAS never had a triple-shot burst mode. However, the Common, Uncommon and Rare variants of the M16, presuming the A2 variant, are also inaccurate, as the M16A2 never had an automatic fire mode, only semi-auto and triple-shot burst. So technically, the SCAR should be the Common, Uncommon and Rare Assault Rifle, while the FAMAS is the Epic and Legendary Assault Rifle. The M16 should also be the Epic and Legendary Burst Assault Rifle
  • While the Common, Uncommon, and Rare variants incorporated visual elements from several real-life rifles, such as the AKM and the SKS, they were not directly based on any real firearm.
  • In the Unvaulted Gamemode, the Burst Rifles are extremely useful during early game, but The Light Machine Gun might be a better choice during late game.
